I redesigned Red Cross’ international volunteering model, creating external partnerships to mobilise diverse skills into 192 Red Cross offices and provide a powerful tool for National Society development.
I structured volunteering around corporate and university partnerships to respond to organisational development needs in National Societies, using micro and e-volunteering to consider trends towards episodic, short-term and remote volunteering.
I built the new volunteering model on Yammer software, widely used within the Red Cross and its partners. This would enable its scalability as a legitimate global human resource platform within the Red Cross movement, enabling wide scale access and impact.
The new model fostered a diverse and global community of volunteers; international volunteers responded to National Society development needs, so local staff and volunteers could better respond to disasters and emergencies.
